Welcome! We are delighted that you have been worshiping with us at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and are interested in membership!  Our membership classes are designed to answer your questions about the Christian faith, introduce you to Holy Cross and our ministries, and inform you as to avenues of service within the church and the community.

Why Membership? Becoming a member of Holy Cross is a formal expression of your commitment to the people of your church family.  It also provides you eligibility to vote at church business meetings as well as to serve as a part of our leadership team (boards, Elders, Council).

How do I become a Member?

  1. Meet with our Director of Assimilation, Michelle Bombeck
  2. Attend the New Member Class,
  3. Stand for public affirmation of membership vows at Welcome Sunday.

Meet with Assimilation Director (Please contact Michelle Bombeck for appointment)

Our initial meeting is when we take time to share our way of defining the Mission and Ministries of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. It provides you with an opportunity to hear what God is doing within this body of believers. You will learn about Mission, Vision and Values while being introduced to numerous areas of ministry. Initial meetings are conducted by appointment.

New Member Class (June and July 2017)

New Member Class is held various times throughout the year. This class provides new members the opportunity to learn about what the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod teaches. The New Member Classes will be held on Tuesday, June 20 and 27, July 11 and 18 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm in the Overflow Rooms. Childcare is provided upon request. To register, please click the link at the top of the page, or call Michelle Bombeck at 237-2944

Welcome Sunday (TBD)

Once you have met with our Assimilation Director and attended the New Member Class, you will have the opportunity to stand before the congregation to assume your membership vows, being welcomed as a member of Holy Cross. This takes place at the 11:00 service. Following the service a lunch is provided for you and provides an opportunity for new members, staff and elders to gather and learn more about one another. The fellowship time during lunch is also informational, giving the staff at Holy Cross an opportunity to share their passion for the areas of ministry in which they serve!

FAQs: Do I have to become a member of Holy Cross to attend services? No.  You do not have to become a member, however, we do encourage membership.  Our prayer is that each person at Holy Cross becomes a fully committed member of the body of Christ, and has a living, growing, maturing relationship with their Savior, Jesus Christ.

Can I be involved in ministry if I am not a member? Yes.  You can still be involved in certain ministries even if you are not a member.  We do require membership for those interested in holding leadership positions with the church and to take part in voting on issues pertaining to Holy Cross.
