Prayer Shawl knitting and crocheting is an outreach ministry of Holy Cross.

The mission of  Holy Cross Lutheran Church Prayer Shawl Ministry combines Christian service and the love of knitting and crocheting into a prayer outreach ministry that comforts those in need. Our ministry’s purpose is to glorify God and its focus is on the Lord’s work in our lives.

Our ministry began in 2008 and since then  we have given many shawls to those who may be facing an illness, accident,  death of a loved one or other life challenges. We have donated many hand knit or crocheted shawls to Holy Cross members, friends and family. Shawls and chemo hats have been given to the Kearney Cancer Center and Good Samaritan Hospital patients. Scarves, hats, sock and mittens are also given to the Safe Center, Crossroads Mission Center and Orphan Grain Train.  Feel free to request a shawl for a friend or family member.

We meet on the first and third Monday at 2:00 pm for about an hour. Please come and join us for this rewarding ministry.
