Holy Cross is part of a larger body of churches known as the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (www.lcms.org). At the heart of our beliefs and teachings is SCRIPTURE ALONE. We believe the Bible to be inspired (meaning it’s God’s Word) and inerrant (meaning it’s without error). As we teach and respond to God’s Word, we confess our faith in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in God the Father, who creates and gives life.  We believe in Jesus, God’s one and only Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise again in the ultimate victory over sin, death, and the power of the devil. Therefore it is by GRACE ALONE and FAITH ALONE in Jesus that we are saved. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments, and who empowers us to live as His people. These three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, meaning they are one true God.

“‘The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,’ that is, the Word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.'” Romans 10:8-11
