Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music.”

PRAISE BAND

A contemporary praise band leads worship every Sunday at 9:30/11. The band includes: keyboard, drums, bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, violin, and flute (and sometimes other instruments). The band practices at 8am in the Music Room on the Sunday they serve.

HYMN LEADERS & PRAISE SINGERS

Hymn Leaders & Praise Singers of all ages lead worship at 8am, 9:30/11am and 5pm. Singers stand at microphones and lead the congregational worship singing.

YOUTH HANDBELLS

We have 3 handbell choirs for youth ages Kindergarten-2nd (Ring-A-Lings), 3rd-5th (Ring Us Up To Heaven), and 6th-8th (Kampanes) that meet at various times during the year to provide youth with beginning and intermediate handbell experience and music instruction. These choirs ring once or twice in worship during their annual 6- to 12- week sessions.

JUBILANT BELL CHOIR

The Jubilant (Adult) Bell Choir meets on Tuesdays at 6pm in the Music Room and is a group of 12-13 adults who ring hand bells together. Jubilant Bells hosts an annual Christmas concert in December and rings in worship a couple of times in the fall and spring semesters.

EASTER & CHRISTMAS CANTATAS

We enjoy putting a large group of approximately 40 singers of all ages together with a band/orchestra (“bandestra”) comprised of middle school to adult musicians, to provide a worship experience in the form of a choral cantata every year at either Easter or Christmas.

SUNDAY SCHOOL MUSIC

A team leads Sunday School music every Sunday morning for BIGS (1st-5th) and littles (3yo-Kind.) Children sing in worship once a semester and learn “benchmark” songs by age group, so that by the end of 5th grade they have a minimum of 7 foundational hymns/songs learned and memorized. Sunday School children also sing in the annual Children’s Christmas Program on Christmas Eve “Eve.”

Hearts Alive

Hearts Alive meets on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Music Room and is a group of about 20 high school/adult singers who love singing contemporary praise & worship music in 4-part harmony. Hearts Alive leads worship on the 3rd Sundays at 9:30/11.

AUDIO / VIDEO TEAM

A team of audio, video, and worship screens volunteers aid at every worship service. The audio tech runs the audio board for live and/or broadcast sound at 8, 9:30, 11, and 5pm. The video tech records worship services (at 8 or 9:30am) for YouTube and NTV. The screens tech uses PowerPoint to advance worship screens for the congregation at 8, 9:30, and 11am.

ORGANISTS & PIANISTS

We have a team of 6-10 pianists/organists that lead worship at 8, 9:30 and 11am. We welcome students who are at a proficient hymn-playing level to join our team! Each pianist/organist typically serves 1-2 times per month.

Special Music

We welcome special music of all kinds from people of all ages, instruments, and voices. We love to have solos, small groups, or ensembles provide special music during worship services all throughout the year.

No Fret Guitar Camp

No Fret Guitar Camp is an annual camp for 6th-12th graders to provide beginning acoustic guitar training. The 10-week class prepares students to play and sing very simple 3- or 4-chord songs in contemporary worship services.

WORSHIP MUSICIAN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Four free summer piano/organ lessons are provided to students of any age who are interested in learning to lead music in worship on either the piano or organ. At the end of the four lessons, the student is prepared to play one hymn or piece of liturgy in worship on the piano or organ.
